• We collected thousands of SATs, 11+ and 13+ past papers. We analysed the structure of each and aligned it to the national curriculum.
• We will publish the data on this during the summer and share it with secondary schools.
• We used this data to model additional questions targeted to each specific secondary school in our database. If your school doesn’t yet feature, let us know.

• We have heard instances of schools reweighting the CAT4 in overall importance given the lack of reliability of some of the entrance exams. Our platform prepares you thoroughly for any exam and properly weights the overlapping skills across exams so you use your time effectively.
• Given the rapidly evolving landscape created by Open AI ChatGPT, we expect significant changes to the exams over the coming year or two to keep up with modern innovations. In particular, we would hope to see exams more aligned with reading, reading comprehension, vocabulary and deeper maths. These subject areas are better suited to developing 21st century critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• A Standard Age Score (SAS) gives an indication of how the pupil is performing relative to a national sample of pupils of the same age where the average score is 100. Cut-offs by school vary from 5-20% of the top scores.
• We provide raw scores because accuracy is what we can control and what matters. Here is an approximate conversion table (link to page). Again, the best way to ensure strong results is to develop high accuracy through consistent practice spaced over time.

• 💯! Research demonstrates you can improve NVR abilities by XX%.
• All of our NVR come with animated solutions. They are not videos but are provided in situ so you can easily see how to solve them. We also provide proprietary prep sheets in the parent resource that explain how to solve each type of NVR.
• Whilst we extensively cover every type of NVR on our platform, the evidence-base for NVR efficacy is waning and we advise exam boards to evolve their assessments. You can read more here.

• Verbal reasoning is one of the easiest subjects to model because we can statistically map the number of possible combinations of words by type and difficulty level using our vocabulary NLP engine. Read more here.
• As such, it is possible to significantly improve VR with targeted vocabulary practice on our platform.

• For mock exams, we do not use images unless it is on the real exam.
• Reading comprehension or what we have trademarked as deep reading is our area of expertise. In fact, we won a large government grant to accelerate student reading age through deep reading.

• Morphology is the study of words and their parts. Morphemes, like prefixes, suffixes and base words, are defined as the smallest meaningful units of meaning. Morphemes are important for spelling, vocabulary and comprehension.
• We have created a gamified morphology tool on our platform to help students build strong awareness of prefixes, suffixes and base words which makes vocabulary building more efficient.

• Many people ask for exam vocabulary lists. Rest assured, this doesn’t exist. Any exam prep provider that is also delivering the exam will be unable to provide any vocabulary words or any questions that are actually on the exam.
• We have created a proprietary AI Word Engine that statistically curates and levels vocabulary by age and type. We will be publishing this tool for you to use in the next release.
• We actively teach both explicit vocabulary and vocabulary in context. Vocabulary is a critical component of any test students will take from now through to university.

• We personalise the content to their interests! Let’s face it, great content is probably the only way to ensure student engagement in SPAG. If students are bored, they won’t learn.

• We topically weight our maths (and all our subjects) syllabus according to curricular importance and difficulty. For example, research and data show that fractions, decimals and percentages are 28% of the curriculum. Why? They are the building blocks of algebra. So your To-Do-List and Mock Exams will reflect this.
• We provide child-friendly answer explanations that optimise cognitive load. We also deliver them in an engaging way.
• Too many platforms either don’t provide answers or provide answer sheets that are too long. Dull videos and PowerPoints that were designed to cover all bases are also not effective.

• Study Groups is a 💯safe social feature designed to model good study habits. There is NO CHAT. The only thing a student can do is see when their friends are online. Students can invite friends during onboarding or any time.
• Parents are free to turn Study Groups on or off at any time. Although, research shows Study Groups can be hugely motivational.

• Research shows that when it comes to data, less is more. A dashboard needs to be actionable and not cluttered with extraneous information. Young students can be demotivated by dashboards that are too complex.
• We provide granular, data-driven syllabi analysis in the parent dashboard.
• Read our research summary (link to page) on how colour makes a difference in motivation and retention of information. Blue and orange are positive colours. Black dashboards can be a depressant.
